Curriculum

Lucilla de Arcangelis si è laureata in Fisica presso l’Università di Napoli Federico II nel 1980. Ha poi conseguito il Ph.D in Fisica alla Boston University (Boston, USA) nel  1986. Dopo un  Post Doc con il Prof. D. Stauffer presso l’Università di Colonia, ha vinto una borsa della Comunità Europea presso il Service de Physique Théorique del CEA (Saclay, Francia). Nel 1990 ha poi vinto un posto di ricercatore  CNRS a tempo indeterminato presso l’Ecole Supérieure de Physique et Chimie a Parigi, dove ha lavorato fino al 1993, avendo vinto un posto di Professore Associato di Fisica Teorica. E’ stata in servizio presso il Dipartimento di Fisica dell’Università dell’Aquila e, a partire dal 1996, presso la Seconda Università di Napoli.

 

 

Negli anni gli interessi di ricerca della Prof. De Arcangelis hanno toccato problemi diversi nell’ambito della Meccanica Statistica e, più in particolare, dei sistemi disordinati. Ha infatti lavorato sulla percolazione, gli automi cellulari, modello di Ising, vetri di spin, modelli statistici per la frattura di materiali eterogenei, dispersione idrodinamica, filtrazione nei mezzi porosi, modelli di gelazione. Più recentemente ha concentrato la sua attività su modelli di previsione sismica basati sullo studio delle correlazioni di magnitudo e su reti neuronali per lo studio delle proprietà critiche dell’attività cerebrale spontanea in collaborazione con l’ETH e l’NIH. Allo stato attuale ha pubblicato più di 120 articoli su rivista e atti di convegni internazionali che hanno ricevuto circa 3000 citazioni (h=25). E’ revisore di numerose riviste e editore di Physica A e Frontiers in Physiology.

Curriculum

Luigi Zeni is full professor of electronics at the Second University of Naples and president of the Research Consortium on Advanced Remote Sensing Systems – CO.RI.S.T.A. (www.corista.eu). He has been, from 2001 to 2012, vice-director of the Department of Information Engineering. He  took his degree in Electronic Engineering, summa cum laude, from University of Naples in 1988 and his Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Science, from Italian Ministry of University in 1992. He has been research assistant at the Department of Electronic Engineering of University of Naples "Federico II" and, from 1998 to 2006, he has been associate professor of Electronics at the Second University of Naples. He worked at DIMES (Delft Institute of Microelectronics and Submicrontechnology) of Technical University of DELFT (The Netherlands) as a visiting scientist. He has been national coordinator of PRIN projects, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) in 2000 and 2005, has been scientific coordinator of research contracts with public and private institutions and responsible for projects funded within the 7th Framework Program of the European Union. He serves as reviewer for several international journals. He is reviewer for PRIN projects and industrial research projects.  He has been member of the Management Committee of the COST 299 “Optical fibers for new challenges facing the information society” of the European Union and presently member of the Management Committee of the COST TD1001 ”Novel and Reliable Optical Fiber Sensor Systems for Future Security and Safety Applications (OFSESA)”. He is member of the Editorial Boards of Sensors & Transducers Journal  and Sensors. He has also been Guest Editor of the special issue “Optical biosensors” of the international journal “Sensors”. His teaching activity includes digital electronics and optoelectronics. He has been supervisor of many degree theses and Ph.D. students. His research interests include the design and realization of optical fiber sensors for distributed measurements of deformation and temperature, the design and characterization of optoelectronic devices with particular emphasis on silicon optoelectronics, optoelectronic integrated sensors, biosensors, and optofluidics, the design and realization of pulse forming networks for bioelectric applications. He is author of more than 112 papers in international journals, more than 112 publications at international conferences and 10 patents. He is also founder of the SpinOff company OPTOSENSING Ltd which deals with structural and environmental monitoring by distributed optical fiber sensors.
