Curriculum

 

Luigi Zeni è professore ordinario di elettronica presso la Seconda Università di Napoli e presidente del Consorzio di Ricerca su Sistemi di Telesensori Avanzati - CO.RI.S.T.A.(www.corista.eu). E' stato dal 2001 al 2012 vicedirettore del Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione. Si è laureato con lode in Ingegneria Elettronica presso l'Università degli Studi di Napoli nel 1988 ed ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria Elettronica ed Informatica nel 1992. E' stato ricercatore universitario presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettronica dell'Università di Napoli "Federico II" ed è stato, dal 1998 al 2006, professore associato di Elettronica presso la Seconda Università di Napoli. Ha lavorato, in qualità di "visiting scientist", presso la Technical University di DELFT (NL) ospite del DIMES (Delft Institute of Microelectronics and Submicrontechnology. E' stato coordinatore nazionale di progetti PRIN, finanziati dal Ministero dell'Istruzione Università e Ricerca (MIUR) nel 2000 e nel 2005 ed è responsabile scientifico di convenzioni di ricerca con enti pubblici e privati e di progetti Europei nell’ambito del 7° Programma Quadro. E' inserito nell'albo degli esperti del MIUR e della Unione Europea. E' revisore di numerose riviste internazionali. E’ membro dell’ Ediorial Board di Sensors & Transducers Journal (ISSN 1726- 5479). E' revisore di progetti PRIN del MIUR, di progetti di ricerca industriale per il Ministero delle Attività Produttive e per la Regione Emilia Romagna (progetti PRRITTT). E' stato membro del Management Committee dell'Azione COST 299 “Optical fibers for new challenges facing the information society” dell'Unione Europea e chair del gruppo di studio "distributed measurements". E’ attualmente membro del Management Committee dell’Azione COST TD1001 “Novel and Reliable Optical Fibre Sensor Systems for Future Security and Safety Applications (OFSESA)” dell'Unione Europea. La sua attività didattica riguarda principalmente l'elettronica digitale e l'optoelettronica. E' stato relatore di numerose tesi di laurea e tutore di studenti di dottorato di ricerca. I suoi temi di ricerca riguardano lo sviluppo e la caratterizzazione di dispositivi optoelettronici con particolare riferimento all'optoelettronica in silicio, lo sviluppo di sensori optoelettronici con particolare riferimento ai sensori distribuiti in fibra ottica per misure di deformazione e temperatura, ai sensori integrati in guida dielettrica planare per misure di indice di rifrazione e assorbimento in sostanze liquide e gassose, ai biosensori e l'optofluidica, il progetto e la realizzazione di generatori di impulsi elettrici ad alta tensione per applicazioni di tipo bioelettrico. E' autore di più di 112 pubblicazioni su riviste internazionali, più di 112 lavori presentati a congressi internazionali e 10 brevetti. E' fondatore della società SpinOff OPTOSENSING S.r.L. che tratta di monitoraggio strutturale e ambientale mediante sensori distribuiti in fibra ottica.
